Calling to talk to someone at SPARK? Chances are I will be the one on the other end of the line. Sending SPARK an email? Yep, that’s me too. I am the person behind the desk helping you manage your membership. Working at SPARK was not really something I ever pictured myself doing. I graduated in 2000 with a Diploma in Child and Youth Care. I found my passion working with children in need. When Kim opened Spark in 2007, I was a stay at home mom with two small children and three teenage foster kids. After ten years of being a foster parent to 28 foster children, I went to work for Catholic Social Services, specializing in helping those affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. I truly loved my job and the people I served, but I was watching SPARK grow and flourish and knew that it was time to turn SPARK into a family business.
Since starting at SPARK, I have slowly started to integrate into our group classes, up until this point I always made excuses for why I couldn’t work out. I always joked that “I own a gym, and I hear it is really great!” I am continually amazed by the community at SPARK, I learned very quickly that it doesn’t matter if you are the slowest or the fastest, the strongest or the weakest, everyone here is just trying to do their best and improve. SPARK is a gym for anyone and everyone. I am thankful every day for the incredible people who walk through the doors of SPARK. I have the best job ever.
