After my last year of playing Junior A hockey in Sherwood Park, I was in pursuit of another activity to keep me moving. I joined my first CrossFit class in 2013 and instantly fell in love with the sport. I loved how the workouts varied, challenged me, and most of all had this community of people that supported you through the workouts.
I graduated from University of Alberta in 2016 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology, majoring in sports performance. Throughout my schooling, I worked as a personal trainer, as well as coached CrossFit/Group Fitness classes. I enjoy coaching CrossFit because it is such a multi-faceted sport in which anyone can participate.
In 2015, I competed in my first Olympic weightlifting competition, and within a year of training reached a National level weightlifting total. I then competed in the Canadian Senior National Championships in Richmond, BC, which I placed 3rd overall in Canada. With my passion for lifting, I run the Learn to Olympic Weightlift class at SPARK for those wanting to improve their lifting techniques.
I am passionate about helping people achieve and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
