Hockey Training

Our 2018 Off-Season Hockey Program begins in early May and runs through to August.

We have a low student to instructor ratio to ensure proper technique, coaching, supervision and safety.  Most important of course is that our system produces results.

We begin by getting rid of the rink rust focusing on corrective exercise, mobility and strength.  Once this gym acclimation has taken place we implement physical testing to find weaknesses and establish a starting point.  This is also utilized throughout the summer to gauge progress and determine focus.  The program of course will end with the same testing to see how far you’ve come. This also helps newer athletes to gain confidence in testing protocols for their team’s requirements.

Our Registered Dietician Emily Mardell will also provide a nutrition seminar for the parents to learn what they should be feeding their athletes during the summer, season as well as pre/post workout and games.  As an additional service she can work individually with the participant  to establish a specific plan in regards to eating for performance and supplementation rather than a cookie cutter plan handed out.

Pro/JR/Collegiate

COST: $2750.00 plus tax

DATES: Apr 30th to Aug 17th, 2018

DETAILS: 

  • 5 days per week (M-F), 2 hrs per session
  • Physical testing and re-testing
  • Body Composition Analysis via InBody 270 to determine body weight, body fat %, body fat mass, lean body mass, skeletal muscle mass and basal metabolic rate
  • Physical Movement Screen with corrective exercises

This program itself will follow a Science-Based, Periodized plan focusing on:

  • Performance: Linear & Multi-directional Speed, Deceleration, Agility and Balance
  • Explosive Power: First Step Quickness, Decreased Reaction Time, Opponent Contact
  • Strength Training: Proper Lifting Technique, Increased Lean Body Mass / Size
  • Core Strength & Power: Faster Rotation, Stronger Athletic Presence (own the corners)
  • Conditioning: Energy System Efficiency and Development (Last Longer, Go Harder)

We are also in contact with all of our Jr, Collegiate and Pro athletes’ teams and agents/advisors to ensure we are on target for what they want their players to accomplish over the summer and familiarize ourselves with their testing regimens to help them score as high as possible.

($500 deposit to secure a spot, the remainder can be split into 4 payments on the 1st of May, June, July Aug)

Note: You are committing to a training program, not a set number of sessions. There will not be prorated fees or discounts for missed training due to holidays, camps or skates. We will do our best to accommodate missed sessions but not at the expense of other athlete’s training. If an athlete is traveling we will send them with a program they can do while away.

Midget

COST: $2500.00 plus tax

  • Physical testing and re-testing

This program itself will follow a Science Based, Periodized plan focusing on:

Early Off Season

DATES: March 5th – April 18th (12 Sessions – no sessions during Spring Break)

Midget Aged: 6:00pm Mon/Wed, 90 min per session – $360.00 plus tax

Bantam Aged: 5:00pm Mon/Wed, 60 min per session – $249.00 plus tax

This is an option for those whose season wraps up early without playoffs.  It is also an excellent prep for Alberta Cup Tryouts.  Get a jump on your training to be ahead of the pack and ready for the Off-Season Program.

In Season Strength Training

Why work hard all summer only to lose a lot of it during the long grueling hockey season?

In Season Training is very similar to our off-season program but is designed more as maintenance. It is less intense and has lighter loads, lower volume and frequency than in the off-season.

It primarily focuses on strength and power retention, speed and injury prevention. It will not be detrimental to your season or eat up too much of your time thus allowing you to focus on the important things – school and playing hockey.

This is specifically for those players looking to keep their athletic edge and stay at the top of the pack. It will also keep you further ahead so there will be less “catch-up” when it comes time for the off-season.

Athletes will train twice per week in small groups from October to February (taking time off for Christmas and the school break).

COST: $169.00 plus tax every4-week block
